According to David Ornstein, Phil Foden has reached a verbal agreement with Manchester City over a contract extension until 2030, with an option to extend for a further year.
Reports indicate that Foden has agreed in principle to a new long-term deal and is set to continue his future at Manchester City. His current contract runs until June 2027, and the proposed four-year extension would keep him at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2030, with an additional 12-month option included.
Although the final paperwork and signatures are still pending, both parties are keen to continue the partnership, and the renewal is expected to be formally completed at an appropriate time.
Foden has appointed top agent Rafaela Pimenta to oversee the next stage of his career, with the Brazilian representative handling all negotiations with the Premier League club.
The England international joined Manchester City’s academy at the age of nine and was promoted to the first team at 17. Since then, he has made 365 senior appearances, registering 110 goals and 66 assists. His honours include six Premier League titles, one UEFA Champions League, and two FA Cups.
This season, under Pep Guardiola, Foden has made 46 appearances, contributing 10 goals and 5 assists.
Foden has also been included in England national team squads for the November World Cup qualifiers and two international friendlies in March—marking the final training camp before Thomas Tuchel leads the team into this summer’s World Cup.
