PSG Surpass €150M in Summer Sales as Club Sets New QSI-Era Transfer Income Record

PSG Surpass €150M in Summer Sales as Club Sets New QSI-Era Transfer Income Record

According to L’Équipe, Paris Saint-Germain’s summer transfer earnings have surpassed €150 million following Randal Kolo Muani’s move to Juventus, setting a new record for the club’s net transfer income since the Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) takeover.

The report highlights that PSG’s performance in the transfer market this summer has looked completely different from previous years. Since the transfer window opened on June 15, the Ligue 1 giants have not spent a single euro on new signings, instead launching a major player-clearance operation that has allowed them to reduce their squad size while generating significant revenue.

On Sunday, Kolo Muani’s transfer to Juventus was officially completed. The deal is understood to include a €38 million fixed fee, plus €12 million in potential add-ons. Following the French striker’s departure, PSG’s total income from player sales this summer has reached €156 million.

Since QSI took over the club in 2011, PSG have been widely known for their heavy spending in the transfer market. However, this summer has seen an unprecedented level of financial restraint. Although one month remains before the transfer window closes, PSG could still make moves in the market later on, but their current profit record has already become a historic milestone.

Before selling Kolo Muani, PSG had already completed several major departures, including Gonçalo Ramos to AC Milan for €74 million, Lee Kang-in to Atlético Madrid for €40 million, and Noham Kamara to Lyon for €4.1 million.

PSG’s previous record for player sales came during the 2023-24 season, when the club generated €210.65 million through departures including Neymar (€90 million) and Marco Verratti (€45 million). However, that same summer PSG also made huge investments to rebuild the squad, signing players such as Kolo Muani, Ramos, and Ousmane Dembélé, meaning the overall financial balance was not as impressive.

In the 2024-25 season, PSG earned close to €150 million from selling players such as Xavi Simons and Manuel Ugarte, but that figure still falls short of this summer’s performance.

Statistics show that between 2011 and 2022, PSG generated more than €100 million in transfer sales revenue only twice. The club now appears to be undergoing a transformation, becoming a more financially disciplined and effective seller in the transfer market while moving away from the era of excessive spending.
