Millwall VS Wrexham

Millwall will look to recover from a heavy defeat when they host Wrexham at The Den on Wednesday evening. The Lions have made an encouraging start to their Championship campaign, collecting six points from their first three matches and sitting sixth in the early standings. After impressive victories over Bristol City and Norwich City, Millwall suffered a 5-1 loss to Southampton despite taking the lead through Mark Sykes. The result halted their perfect start, but Alex Neil’s side remain among the promotion contenders after finishing third last season and strengthening their squad during the summer. Wrexham arrive in London still waiting for their first Championship victory. Phil Parkinson’s team began the season with draws against Cardiff City and Watford before falling to a 2-1 defeat against Birmingham City. The club narrowly missed out on the playoffs last term and invested heavily during the summer, bringing in several players to strengthen their promotion push. Their early results, however, have highlighted some defensive concerns, particularly after conceding twice against Birmingham. Wrexham will need a significant improvement if they are to take anything from a Millwall side that has already demonstrated its ability to compete near the top of the table.
