Barcelona will begin their 2026-27 Champions League campaign at home against Feyenoord, with Hansi Flick's side aiming to end a long wait for another European title. The Catalan club last lifted the trophy in 2015 and were eliminated by Atletico Madrid in last season's quarter-finals. Their start to the new domestic campaign has been exceptional, however, with four consecutive La Liga victories over Elche, Athletic Bilbao, Rayo Vallecano and Valencia. Barcelona have scored 17 goals across those matches, underlining the attacking quality that makes them one of the major contenders for European success this season. Feyenoord arrive in Catalonia with confidence of their own after making an unbeaten start to the campaign. Giovanni van Bronckhorst's team have collected three wins and two draws from their opening five matches and recently defeated Nijmegen 3-1. The Dutch side have also remained unbeaten in all competitions since March, although their recent European record is less convincing. Feyenoord failed to progress from the Europa League league phase last season and were eliminated in the Champions League qualifying rounds the previous campaign. Their last appearance in the Champions League main competition came in 2024-25, when they reached the round of 16 before losing to Inter Milan. Barcelona previously defeated Feyenoord 3-0 on aggregate in their only two meetings, both played during the 1974-75 European Cup.

Barcelona has had an outstanding start in La Liga, winning all four of their opening games, scoring 17 goals while conceding only 2. In their most recent La Liga fixture, they thrashed Valencia 5-0 away from home. Yamal scored a brace, Fermin Lopez had a goal and two assists, and Raphinha found the net for the fourth consecutive game. In the Champions League, Barcelona has been equally dominant, losing only two of their last 15 games at the group - stage level, with 11 victories. On the other hand, Feyenoord is in good form in the Dutch league. They defeated NEC 3-1 away in the fifth round of the Eredivisie, with goals from Jevon Zirkzee, Darko Nemeš and Luciano Valente. They had an unbeaten record of 2 wins and 2 draws in the first four rounds of the Eredivisie. However, when facing Spanish teams, Feyenoord has struggled, winning only 2 of their last 11 encounters. Additionally, they haven't had a goalless draw in their last 41 European matches. Considering these factors, Barcelona's

Barcelona head into this Champions League clash as clear favourites, with the home side expected to control the match through possession and attacking pressure. Their ability to dominate the ball and create chances should make life difficult for Feyenoord. The Dutch visitors are capable of playing attractive football and could have moments going forward, but they face a major challenge against a Barcelona side expected to take control from the opening stages. Feyenoord will need to defend well and remain organised, especially during periods when Barcelona increase the tempo.

Barcelona has been in excellent form lately, with their outstanding performance attributed to significant improvements in both offense and defense. They're currently in high spirits and playing with great confidence. On the other hand, Feyenoord has shown a bit of improvement in their defense, but there are still many flaws. The team's overall performance has been far from ideal, especially in away games. In terms of strength, Barcelona can take advantage of their home - field advantage. In 8 matches, they've won 3, drawn 3, and only lost 2. Their home record is even more impressive, with 4 wins and 2 losses in 6 home games. Comparing the recent form, Barcelona clearly outshines Feyenoord. Feyenoord struggles to score goals while conceding a lot. Their morale is at an all - time low. Given Barcelona's consistent home undefeated record, it seems more reasonable to expect Barcelona to have an edge in this game. • Arsenal begin their latest Champions League campaign away to Napoli with genuine hopes of finally lifting the trophy after coming agonisingly close last season. Mikel Arteta's side reached the final in 2025-26 after also making the quarter-finals and semi-finals in the previous two campaigns, establishing themselves as one of Europe's most consistent teams. Their current form further strengthens that optimism, with Arsenal winning all four matches this season while scoring nine goals and conceding just once. They have also avoided defeat in their last nine European opening fixtures, winning seven, and their remarkable Champions League record includes 15 matches without a defeat in normal time. Napoli face a far more difficult situation heading into the meeting at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Massimiliano Allegri's team started the Serie A season with a 2-0 win over Genoa but then suffered consecutive defeats against Como and Inter Milan. Their latest setback was pa
