Alexis Mac Allister is disappointed that Liverpool have yet to offer him a new contract, despite his importance to the team since joining the club in 2023. The Argentina international arrived during Jurgen Klopp’s final season and played a key role in Liverpool’s Premier League title-winning campaign in 2024-25.

Mac Allister had opportunities to leave Liverpool during the summer transfer window but ultimately chose to stay at Anfield. The 27-year-old believes he is in the right environment to continue developing his career and remains fully committed to the club, even though the lack of a new deal has left him frustrated. His current contract still runs until the end of the 2027-28 season.

The midfielder’s disappointment has been heightened by the recent contract extensions handed to fellow midfielders Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch. While Mac Allister is pleased to see both teammates rewarded, their new deals have also highlighted his own uncertain situation. Nevertheless, he has no intention of allowing the issue to affect his performances and remains determined to give his best whenever he plays.

Since arriving from Brighton, Mac Allister has enjoyed a highly successful period, having already won major honours with both Argentina and Liverpool. Although he feels his achievements speak for themselves, he understands that maintaining a high level on the pitch remains essential. With several years still remaining on his current agreement, Liverpool have time to decide his long-term future, but the absence of an extension could give Mac Allister greater leverage as his contract moves closer to its final years.
