AC Milan are set for a major rise in their wage spending during the 2026/27 season, with their estimated gross payroll reaching €103.14 million. According to projections from Calcio e Finanza, the figure moves the Rossoneri up to fourth place among Serie A clubs, improving on their fifth-place position from last season.

The sharp increase is closely liked to Milan’s activity in the transfer market. The club have invested in several new players, including individuals who command significant salaries, pushing the overall wage bill well above last season’s level. Milan are now among only four Serie A teams expected to spend more than €100 million on player wages.

Inter Milan lead the league with an estimated €145.82 million wage bill, narrowly ahead of Juventus at €145.52 million. Napoli sit third with €109.72 million, leaving Milan just over €6 million behind the reigning champions. The tiny gap of around €300,000 between Inter and Juventus also highlights how closely matched the two clubs are financially in terms of salaries.

Overall Serie A wage spending is projected to climb from approximately €1.1 billion last season to €1.209 billion in 2026/27. Roma occupy fifth place with €92.70 million, while Atalanta follow in sixth at €73.77 million. Milan’s rise therefore represents a significant shift in the league’s financial hierarchy and reflects the club’s greater investment in building a competitive squad.
