West Ham United VS Wrexham

West Ham United welcome Wrexham to London on Friday night with an opportunity to strengthen their position at the top of the Championship table. After collecting only one point from matches against Charlton Athletic and Watford at the end of August, the Hammers have responded impressively with three consecutive victories. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have scored 10 goals across wins over Wolverhampton Wanderers, Derby County and Bolton Wanderers, showing considerable attacking confidence despite recording only one clean sheet in eight competitive matches this season. Jarrod Bowen has also made an important contribution, producing three goals and two assists from his six Championship starts. Wrexham have experienced a more inconsistent beginning to their campaign, with four draws from their opening six Championship fixtures. Phil Parkinson’s side have performed particularly well away from home, drawing with Cardiff City and Swansea City while also securing an impressive 3-0 victory at Millwall. Their home results have been less convincing, however, with only two points collected against Watford, Birmingham City and Burnley. Wrexham’s biggest concern remains their attacking output, as aside from the three-goal success at Millwall, they have scored only four times across their other five league matches. Their ability to recover from losing positions has been encouraging, though, and another positive result in the capital could bring them within one point of West Ham.
