Shanghai Port has maintained an impressive run of winning form in their recent outings. Looking back at the past head-to-head records between the two sides, the overall competitive balance is fairly even, but Daejeon Citizen’s away historical performance is far inferior to their home record, and Shanghai Port holds the upper hand in past meetings. Daejeon Citizen have underperformed badly in attacking output while conceding goals far more frequently, and their recent three straight home defeats have left the squad in very low spirits. Given the huge difficulty for the team to compete for the championship this season, there is a strong possibility that they will divert part of their focus to subsequent matches. Even though their defensive end has shown decent performance lately, Shanghai Port still stands a great chance to secure another victory in this clash. Looking at the recent form of both sides, there is barely a distinct gap in overall competitiveness between the two teams in t

Shanghai Port’s home performance in the ongoing Chinese Super League season has not been as strong as expected. They currently sit 7th in the domestic league table with a combined record of 11 wins, 8 draws and 8 losses, while their home tally of 5 wins, 5 draws and 3 losses only ranks 10th across the entire CSL, far below their usual competitive level. As for Daejeon Citizen, they take the 6th spot in the K League 1 this season with an overall 11-win, 10-draw, 10-loss record. Their away form is also fairly steady, as their 6 wins, 4 draws and 5 losses on the road is good enough for 6th place in the division's away standings, showing they are fully capable of grabbing points away from home. Shanghai Port kicked off their AFC Champions League campaign with a solid 6-4 away win over Ratchaburi, riding an impressive 9-match unbeaten run that includes 7 wins and 2 draws to show rock-solid competitive form. Daejeon Citizen also claimed all three points in their first ACL fixture, edging p

From what I have observed, Shanghai Port has been in exceptional form lately, stringing together multiple wins that mark a clear uptick in their overall performance. They claimed a solid victory in their last fixture, and currently sit in mid-table on the league standings. As for Daejeon Citizen, the side has also posted impressive recent results, managing to stay undefeated across a long run of matches. Their squad is still not at full fitness right now, and the overall strength gap between the two sides is not particularly large. Facing a strong rival in this round, Daejeon Citizen are fully determined to avoid a loss and carry extremely strong competitive intent here. As the two sides lock horns once again, it remains to be seen whether Shanghai Port can secure all three points.
